My thoughts and prayers go out to the innocent victims and families affected by the Boston Marathon Bombing. The explosions at the Boston Marathon on Monday left three people dead, including a child, and at least 140 more injured. I wanted to share this picture of a young 8 year old boy killed in the attack. This is Martin Richard and his message, ” No more hurting people-Peace”, this message is so important in our world today, and world peace is ultimately what we should strive for. In this truly heartbreaking event, Martin’s words will not be forgotten. With this thought I came across a quote that I feel is also very important to remember in our everyday lives, and through times like these.

On the news I saw horrifying events-where destruction swept the streets and lives were lost. But I also saw people, I found the helpers that risked their own lives to save the lives of others. Because of our everyday heroes there’s hope for a better future, and someday a chance at world peace. My thoughts and prayers for Boston and to the helpers, who try to make the world a better place in the scariest of times.

World Peace is so much more than a classic pageant girl answer. It’s the answer for everyone. – Miss Teen Chatham Kent-World 2013
