Hi everyone!

Did you know that approximately every minute of every day, someone in Canada needs blood? Yet only four percent of Canadians donate. My goal is to change that.

I’m excited to say that I am officially a volunteer for the Canadian Blood Services, and I will be attending all upcoming blood drives in my area! In fact, I spent the evening at a blood drive yesterday.

My job as a volunteer is to tend to people after they’ve had their blood taken. I sit them at a table, offer them snacks and drinks, and make sure that they don’t have a reaction to having their blood taken. I am committed to helping save and improve the lives of literally thousands of hospital patients who rely on the Canadian Blood Services each and every day

More about my goal…

My goal is to bring in as many people to blood drives in my community as I can. I want others to realize the importance of donating. When you donate blood, you save lives. It’s that simple. Your donation can treat cancer patients; bring a car accident victim through surgery, even help a transplant patient’s new heart beat for the first time.

This Easter long weekend, there will be 5,760 people who will need blood because time won’t stop for a holiday.

As of right now, and up to Easter Monday on April 6th, we have 16 500 appointments open in South Central Ontario.  I am asking you to please take a moment and share this message with your friends, family, co-workers, classmates and social media contacts.  Please encourage them to go online to www.blood.ca  or the GiveBlood app and book an appointment before Easter Monday.  Alternatively, call 1 888 2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283) to book an appointment.

Some of our clinics are in special need.  For example we have 650 unfilled appointments at our Bay & Bloor clinic and a further 600 appointments in each of the London and Burlington perm clinics.

These are just some of the spaces we are looking to fill.

Please take a moment to share this message with your friends, family, co-workers, classmates and social media contacts.  Please book an appointment and help make the world of difference to a patient in need.

Thanks so much for your unwavering support!
